Maurice Ntububa

Professor Researcher 

Maurice Ntububa Bisimwa is a professor and director of the Research Unit on Governance, the Environment and Territorial Development (UR-GEDT) at the University of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain and has collaborated on the European Union project with Lubumbashi City Council as head of the anthropology and sociology departments, as part of the environmental public policy programme known as the ‘Lubumbashi 2030 Project’. He possesses considerable expertise in studies relating to the mining environment in the provinces of Haut-Katanga and Lualaba. His current work focuses on REDD+ projects and the new climate economy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
