This research project analyses the new development corridors in the DRC using an environmental justice approach that focuses on issues of redistribution, participation and recognition of local communities. Through our initial work on the Couloir Vert Kivu-Kinshasa and the Lobito Corridor, we demonstrate that these infrastructure projects can perpetuate extractive dynamics when they remain primarily organised around the movement of resources, the security of supply chains and logistical efficiency.
